Once upon a time a Long long time ago Lived a fair young maiden Someone I used to know But there is no happy ending It’s just a fantasy Finding ways of knowing don’t make much sense to me There is no happy ending Is no holy grail There is no incantation Just a fairy tale Once upon a time in a land far far away Lived a simple hero With nothing more to say

Do it Again 06:51
I used to think that everyone had it figured out Had found the hidden secret life was all about Insider trades and parlor games, a language I don’t speak I was a child, I realize I needed time to think The time has come, stay for awhile. The day is done, remember to smile. Forget your problems, don’t live in the past. Live in the moment, ‘cause it never lasts. Liberty, futility, humility, community Ability, civility, stability, tranquility What’s in a word? It’s just a sign, a poor symbology Woefully inadequate to say just what I mean Convey, betray the way I feel, the truth I have inside Try to translate, can’t betray it even if I tried Giving up and giving out was never good enough Even when the chips were down I never called your bluff Giving up and giving out, what else can I do? I’m a child, I realize that I believe in you. I used to think that everyone knew the joke but me I don’t get the punchline and life’s a comedy Need to find a reason, need a new routing Can’t survive the 9-to-5, I needed time to breathe. The time is now, get outta bed. Put your shoes on, get outta your head Clean your room up, go for a walk. Call your parents, just let ‘em talk. Starting somewhere; where to begin? Just start over, and do it again. Do it again.

I saw you in a photograph Stuck inside the frame I saw but I’ve forgotten I forgot your name Feels just like a movie A film missing a scene Edited, discarded Absent on the screen Scene missing - frame by frame Reminiscing- day by day Keep wishing (eyes on the screen) Stop listening (missing the scene) I saw you in a memory Stuck inside my mind I saw and I remember Remembering that time Feels like I’m mistaken Feels like a bad dream Unpleasantly awakened and Taken sight unseen (Chorus)

Town Square 03:25
Go back to sleep, please stay with me Stay up all night, sleepless nights Go back to work, please wait for me Will you stay the night? Tonight is the night. Going to town square, I’m not even there Please come home tonight, Come home with me Daily routine, never-ending Over and over, and over again Time for a change, make a better place Living on my own, on my own terms
6.
Conservative? I’ve never given Admirable restraint The shopping done, the beds are made, We don’t collaborate The water’s boiling, dishes clean and Dinner’s on the way Summertime and cheap red wine, Our marriage ends today Time is running out. Never far behind Look down at your feet. The Shadow of time The dinner table places set, Restrictions are obeyed The meal is unremarkable, A compromise is made Nothing’s ever good enough And nothing’s ever done I’m finished with the silent treatment, I’m over it, you won. The sun. Shines. Bright. and gives. us. light. The darkness is a crime. The shadow of time. GIVE ME BACK MY LIFE YOU ARE NOT MY WIFE GIVE ME BACK MY SOUL GIVE ME BACK CONTROL I don’t understand you, it’s not clear What’s the harm? It’s just another beer I don’t understand you anymore LOCK THE DOOR. LOCK THE DOOR. I’m scared. I’m tired. My worst Desire The witching hour’s drawing near, The day is over have no fear The night is young, it’s not too late. Why can’t we communicate? I’m scared. I’m tired. My worst desire Why did you leave me? Cheat and deceive me? Remnants are shattered. Bruised broken and battered (The shadow of time) Wishing you to be so near to me, Finding only my loneliness Waiting for the sun to shine again, Finding that it's gone too far away To die, To sleep. To sleep, to dream (Maybe to dream) THE SHADOW OF TIME
7.
Everything is overrated, dated and obscene Everything is complicated, it doesn’t have to be Nothing’s really permanent and nothing ever lasts Planning for the future but I’m living in the past Well I guess I’ll see you around, in exile all over town Guess I’ll see you around. Am I lost, or just less found? Finding out the hard way, Find me safe and sound Consider me forgotten, spoiled rotten, Lost and found Guess I’ll see you around. Am I lost or just less found? Making missed connections, finding What you least expect Treat yourselves with kindness, love and mutual respect Well I Guess I’ll see you around Am I lost or just less found? I guess I’ll see you around... The vessel’s run aground - Ashore and homeward bound Double-crossed and tossed in lost and found Making broken promises and offering false hope A false sense of security, whatever helps you cope Guess I’ll see you around Am I lost or just less found? Consider me an enemy, Consider me a friend Consider me in loving kindness now until the end Nobody is perfect; and No one always wins Can we be created though if no one ever sins? Anyone can justify a reason to believe And everyone can find themselves a reason to leave

about

Second Thoughts is the spiritual sequel to the eponymous Witness Protection debut album, released in 2020. It revisits many of those same themes from another perspective in a conceptual sequence. The number of tracks is not accidental - seven is significantly symbolic in many cultures and spiritual systems. It is also a nod to the Italian Progressive Rock album as a genre, my favorites of which coincidentally contain seven songs each. The choice to record this album in English and Italian was an intentional decision from the start, as an homage to 1970s Rock Progressivo Italiano. Each song represents a specific “day in the life” as the protagonist strives to survive, reject and eventually embrace that which is the human condition. It is an existential reflection upon denial, hope, nostalgia, grief, joy, fear, and acceptance.

Digital album includes 37-page liner notes with handwritten lyrics and high-resolution artwork.
